The “M” badge first appeared in 1972 when BMW M, the brands motorsport division was founded. The first ever vehicle to feature the “M” badge was the 1978 BMW M1, a sports car of which only 453 units were ever produced.
The BMW M4 was first introduced in 2013, however only the exterior was showcased, no technical or interior details were revealed at the time. The M4 was created to replace the M3 Coupe and Convertible. Various improvements were made to the vehicle, which is more powerful than the M3.
Powered by a 3.0-litre twin turbo I6 engine, the M4 is capable of going from 0 to 60mph in 4.1 seconds. It’s a powerful vehicle that also looks great and feels great to drive. It’s no surprise that the vehicle handles great as the brand’s cars are known for the smooth driving experience that they offer.
Styling-wise the vehicle loos rather modern however it still features a number of elements that make it feel somewhat familiar.
The M4 GTS set to go on sale in 2016 having made its debut at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It’s a more powerful version of the M4 that is said to be capable of reaching a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h). Only 700 units of the GTS will ever be produced.
The M4 is definitely a decent vehicle that’s much more powerful and better looking than its predecessor.
