Design and technical details for 2015 BMW X6
If you haven’t already guessed, we’re huge fans of BMW. Not only is it one of the most popular brands on the planet but having been around for nearly 100 years, it’s still going strong and producing fantastic cars on a regular basis. Most manufacturers can only dream of someday reaching the success of the world-renowned brand.
The vehicle that we are going to look at today was first introduced in 2007. We are of course talking about the incredible X6.
Having first debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show in the form of a concept car, the X6 is slightly larger than the X5. In 2008, the production version debuted at the North American International Auto Show in 2008. The X6 went into production the very same year and remained that way until 2012.
The base model X6 included an N54 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six gasoline engine. The diesel variant on the other hand included a 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine.
Styling-wise the X6 looked rather elegant and featured a lot of BMW elements that we’re all familiar with.
The second generation X6 debuted at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. It featured a new eight-speed automatic and a slightly larger luggage bay however for the most part it remained the same. Performance-wise the vehicle improved a little with the base model including a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine.
It officially went on sale in 2015 to rather positive reviews.
If you’re after a car that’s rather powerful and good to look at then the x6 will definitely meet your expectations. It’s just one in a wide range of fantastic BMW vehicles on the market.
